Acute health care services for children and youth

Mental Health for Children and Youth: visit mental healthcare for children and youth

  • Juvenile Diabetes Education Centre Diabetes education for children and youth * children, youth, and their families receive interdisciplinary care * follow-up is maintained at regular three month intervals for ongoing support and education * team members involved are nurses, dietitians, social workers, pediatricians, and pediatric endocrinologists

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit 24-bed level 2B care centre for premature, sick and at-risk newborns born at 32 weeks of gestation or later

  • Outpatient Clinic and POGO (Oncology) - Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario Satellite Clinic Outpatient care in oncology, medical follow up care for children and youth * health teaching to assist patient and family understand condition and participate in treatment program * services include maintenance chemotherapy, transfusions, remicade and other infusions, dressing changes, medication administration, x-ray, blood work, specimen collections, vital signs monitoring, IVIG, premature infant follow up, Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, Synagis Clinic
