Description of Services:
Provides a variety of fitness and recreation programs for community members
Chair Fitness - 60-minute exercise class that utilizes a chair for seated and standing activities * focus on increasing cardiovascular, fitness, and muscular strength * all equipment provided, all fitness welcome
Community Gym - Access to exercise equipment at the Markdale site Mon-Fri 8:30am-4pm * ages 14 years and older or under 14 with adult accompaniment * fitness plans and equipment orientation - call for appointment
Circuit Training - Complete a circuit of various cardio, strengthening, and conditioning exercises with the support of a personal trainer * all fitness levels welcome
Indoor Walking Group (Steady Steps) - Dundalk, Flesherton, Markdale * call for times and locations
Line Dancing - Learn easy, choreographed dances to get your heart rate up, meet new people, and try something new * no experience necessary
Pickleball - Reserve a spot on the court online * daytime play at the Centre Grey Recreation Complex, evening play at Beavercrest Community School * fee may apply
Tai Chi - Improve balance, concentration, and coordination
Yoga - Learn basic poses and techniques * build strength and improve flexibility balance and range of motion * registration is required for all new participants
Zumba - Incorporates cardio into high- and low-intensity dance moves * all experience levels welcome * registration is required for all new participants
